Hello! My name is Erika Giangrande and this upcoming school year will be my fourth year teaching, second year as a first grade teacher. 

 

Prior to becoming an educator, I worked in NYC for four years with a Media/PR degree. Four years ago I decided to leave the corporate world and pursue my love for children and become an educator. I withhold a NJ Teaching Certificate PreK-3 and I am currently working towards my masters.

 

This upcoming school year will be my second year teaching first grade at School #3. School #3 is very special to me. I was born and raised in Belleville and I have attended School #3 from kindergarten through 6th grade, followed by attending Belleville Middle School and Belleville High School, Class of 2009. Not only is School #3 special to me, but the Township of Belleville is as well. I am also the cheerleading coach for the Belleville Jr. Bucs, C squad. I have been coaching for the past 15 years. 

 

When it comes to teaching, I feel that every student is unique and special in their own way and it is important to not only teach academics but to also focus on a child's social-emotional development skills. I am very personable and I believe building a strong foundation amongst yourself and your students' parents/guardians increases a child's overall success. 

 

First grade is such a rewarding grade and it is amazing to see the growth, positivity and confidence grow within each student as the year progresses. I cannot wait to see what this year brings!
